The Clarence Tabor Lake House
on Long Pond

"Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not the fish they are after."
— Henry David Thoreau
A private, lakeside seasonal cottage is available for weekly rental, just three miles from the Yeaton Farm Inn.

This rustic "Maine Camp" is constructed in the tradition of the historic fishing and retreat cottages, for which the Belgrade Lakes region is famous.

Locations of this type, provide a natural Maine setting for family gatherings, writing, creating and quiet meditation.

This rental is about the gracious woodland forest. Those who love and want to explore nature, and those who hope to be exposed to the grandeur and silence of the Maine forests, may find this rustic cottage to be well-suited for their desires. There is no television here.

Designed by reknowned architect, Clarence Tabor in 1966, this simple wood and glass house is situated near the water's edge.

Known for the natural tranquility and quiet of scenic Long Pond, The Clarence Tabor Lake House has 200 feet of rocky waterfront with the sunset view. The 12-mile spring-fed lake offers some of the best swimming, fishing, and water sports in Maine. For a memorable adventure, it's just a 30-minute boat ride from the dock to shopping in the Village of Belgrade Lakes.

The house has 4 small bedrooms (sleeps 6 comfortably), three half baths and a shower, a "camp" kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, and a separate laundry building (one load only per day please, to preserve our crystal-clear lake water).

Heated with a woodstove in the open-ceiling living room, the architecturally-lovely cottage is built of native wood, and has many large windows for experiencing the profound natural beauty of the location. A 32-foot deck overlooks the lake. A large dock provides easy lake access.

Mink, otter and other wildlife may be seen; the crazy loon calls are frequently heard as the sound echoes across the water.

A Walking Excursion: around the lakehouse a photographer's memories, are captured in imagery…
